2. Technical Description of the Fluorescent UV Chamber

2.1 Irradiance Parameter

a)Wavelength

UVA 340nm, UVA 351nm, UVB 313nm, UVC 254nm.

b)Exposure Area

The Fluorescent UV Chamber provides two test chambers, located upper and bottom. Operate separately. Each Test chamber could hold 12 specimen holders (48 standard specimens).

c)Controlled Irradiance

Narrow band 340 nm (0.25-1.55 W/m2) or 351 nm (0.25-1.35 W/m2)or 313 nm (0.28-1.25 W/m2) or 254nm (0.25-1.35 W/m2) to meet test requirements.

2.2 Technical System Description

a)Illuminant

UV fluorescent tube is used in the weathering testing system, which is the closest simulation of UV of solar radiation.

b)Specimen Holder

Provide 24pcs of adjustable specimen holders (75mm x 300mm) for 48pcs standard specimens (75mm x 150mm). Specimen holders could be customized.

Distance between center of tube to surface of specimen: 50mm ± 3mm

c)Condensation Control

The heater provides control of condensation and enables automatic control and display of condensation inside the chamber.

Humidity range during condensation: ≥ 95% RH

d)Temperature Control

Temperature inside of the chamber, black panel thermometer (BPT) temperature or black standard thermometer (BST) temperature are controlled or monitored consistently and simultaneously.

Automatic air circulation system for recirculating chamber air.

Temperature range inside of the chamber (maximum ambient temperature of 35°C): 40°C to 90°C

Temperature uniformity inside of the chamber: ≤ 2°C

Temperature range of BPT: 40°C to 110°C

Temperature range of BST: 40°C to 120°C

e)Specimen Spray

Nozzles inside of the chamber provide uniform spraying of specimens with deionized water.

The specimen spray applies water to the exposed surface of the specimen which simulates rain to induce temperature shock and erosion effects.

f)Control System

The control system of the Fluorescent UV Chamber is a PLC, Type Siemens.

The system will be delivered with PLC program and a touch screen control panel color display.

g)Software Functionality

4 custom test programs, which could be fully customized, such as step by step adjustment of irradiance, chamber temperature, BST temperature, condensation and spray to achieve customized testing procedure or cycles. All existing test programs can be saved, loaded and edited for custom applications.
